Frequently asked questions
Where does this data come from?
From RDAP, the open protocol that domain registries use to publish registration data. We ask the registry for the domain's TLD directly.
Does domain age affect my Google ranking?
Google has said it does not use domain age on its own as a ranking signal. Older sites often rank well because of the links and content they built up over time, not because of the date.
Why does it say my domain cannot be looked up?
Some domain registries do not publish RDAP data, so there is nothing for us to read. This is a limit of those registries, not of the domain.
Why is the date newer than my website?
The date is when the current registration record was created. If the domain expired and was registered again, or was transferred as part of a new registration, the record starts over.
